Written report

               My subject today is a comparison between the sport in the past and nowadays. I interviewed Mr. Arif Bawazir who has a very good background about that. I asked him many questions about sport and he replayed on it as it is shown in report.

My name is Arif Bawazir was born in Dubai on October 20, 1964. I played in Al Nasser Club from 1978 until 1980. After that in 1984 I moved to play in Al Wasel Club. I played with them until 1990. Unfortunately, I was unable to continue with them because of my own reasons but I was practicing the sport at leisure because of my great love for the sport.

In the past, sports were held in neighborhoods near homes and yards which were mostly from sand. Football games are common at that time. As well as too many of the popular games. For example there was a game called ( Al Dharah ). In this game we draw a rectangular in the sand and divide it in two parts and distributed every team in division. Each team consists of 3 to 6 players. A player from the first team must enter to the second team area and if was able to touch any of the Members of the second team and back to touch the parallel line for his team the player who has been touched will come out. But if he caught by the second team before touching the line he will be forced to give up and his team will lose in this case.

Sports in UAE began by individual efforts where they were traveling to far distant places such as Abu Dhabi and Al Ain in one car. Then many sports have begun to appear such as basketball, handball, volleyball, swimming and cycling. Also the government starts supporting clubs and activities especially after the establishment of the Federation of the United Arab Emirates on the second of December 1971.

With the development of the UAE in various fields, many games had appeared such as chess, motor racing, archery, horse racing, judo and karate. In addition, because of the government's interest in sports in general and football in particular, UAE reached for the first time in its history in the year 1991 to World Cup. In another hand, investment began in the sport of care, advertising and ticket sales and television rights.

Nowadays, sport has evolved dramatically increased the players contracts for up to millions and compete with the big companies to care for league and cup. And it began to spread huge clubs European-style and European thereto playgrounds various services such as Al Jazeera Club and Hazza bin Zayed stadium. Also UAE established clubs for people with special needs. Last but not least, UAE opened of the headquarters of the Federation of the UAE Football Association in Dubai in 2014.

In the meantime, financial changed a lot of the concepts of sport in general. While in the past the motivation for sport was the love and passion. In my opinion, simplicity was better. Somehow you can feel the spirit of sport Which leads us to our follow-up to play various sports.

Case study

 

I worked alone in the Case Study and that was for many reasons. One of the reasons is that I am a new student in the ADMC while I was in DMC. So I don’t know the other students well. In addition, my work is not flexible, so I can’t manage a good time to meet with other students.

          I chose to visit The Club in Abu Dhabi because my teacher mentioned it before. After I heard him talking about it I visited the website of The Club and I liked to visit it.

          I decided to visit The Club by myself to see it and collect the information about it. The reason of that is because I wanted to take the information about it and take some pictures for it by myself and I believe it is the best way to gather the information.

          While I was in The Club and during the interview I found out many things about it. For example, I found out that the place was very nice and got a good location. Also I found that it was the second building of The Club, where it was located in another place and was opened for more than 50 years.

          The results of my visit to The Club were Very exciting, because it was a unique place with many activities and combine the members as a huge family.

          In my opinion, the information was connected to LSS 3003 Sport, Leisure and Society because you can see the sport, leisure and society in one place where you can learn many things from it.

          To complete your Case Study successfully, you need some skills. For example, you have to know what kind of question you have to ask. Also you have to bring some devices like camera and microphone.

          I think my results in the Case Study shows my skills in many levels.

          The changes I would make to my Case Study are: bring someone to help in recording the video because I want to show myself when asking the questions and bring a microphone to make the sound very clear.

ALZ READING: Sportsman of the month

My subject will be talking about DiMaggio who known as the "The Yankee Clipper".

Joseph Paul "Joe" DiMaggio (1914-1999) was an American famous baseball player who played his entire 13 years career for the New York Yankees. In 1969 he was voted as the sport's greater living player. His brothers also became major legue center fielders. In his sport career he faced a problem which was at the yankee studium. The main problem at the yankee studium for the right handed hitters was it's deep left and center fields where almost impossible to get ahome run. However, he was married to a famous film star. She was Mariln Monroe. Unfourtunatly, the marrige was end after 274 days where they devorced in September 14 , 1954. Richard Ben Cramer who was DiMaggio biographer asserts that thier marriage was filled with "violence.
